0.4.5
0.4.5 covers the Windows changes since 0.4.2 and ships alongside Android companion 0.2.10, build 12. Update the phone from Settings > Update first, then update the desktop from the Help menu. Version 0.4.4 was an internal release candidate. Everything prepared for it ships here.
Phone and desktop chat
- Use Revert turn on the phone to undo a completed turn's edits. If later edits conflict or files cannot be restored, the phone explains what happened and offers the available recovery actions.
- Choose the agent's model from the phone. Both clients show actual model names, such as Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra, and a change during a running turn applies to the next turn.
- A Thinking indicator on both clients shows that the agent is working before its first reply or action appears.
- The phone's Status page shows job progress, time estimates when enough progress is available, and clip counts for supported batch jobs. Queued jobs name the work ahead of them.
- History no longer fills with a completion row for every plain chat answer. Jobs, edits and failures remain visible.
- Phone messages stay visible while sending and can be retried after a connection failure. Reconnecting and recovering after an app update are more reliable.
- Incomplete turn reverts keep their recovery options across a reconnect.
Editing and analysis
- Face tracking and motion analysis can start in the background after importing video taller than 720 pixels. Preferences has an Analyze imported media in the background option, enabled by default, which you can turn off if it slows imports down.
- Video above 720p gets automatic 720p proxies, and repeated analysis can reuse matching saved results. Face tracking, face recognition and motion analysis also reuse prepared media to reduce repeated work.
- Agentic mode in Rough Cut processes transcript chapters in parallel, then checks the cuts where chapters meet. Its Runs on choices reflect the available Claude Code, Codex CLI and API options, with an estimated duration for the selected material.
- Rough Cut can move cut material to a new track instead of deleting it, so a rough cut can stay non-destructive.
- The Lift action is now called Delete everywhere it appears, including cut dialogs and module settings. Same behavior, clearer name.
- Motion analysis handles lower-resolution media more consistently. Talking detection is less likely to mistake tiny tracking movements for speech, and face recognition better excludes stationary artwork.
- Fixed inaccurate seeking in some MP4, MKV and transport-stream videos. Replacing a source file also refreshes its media information before playback.
- Fixed an audio engine error when reopening a project or adding freshly imported media to the timeline before its audio finished preparing. Audio now follows the timeline immediately instead of waiting for audio preparation to catch up.
Accounts and the assistant
- Log in to your account on the desktop or phone. Paired devices belong to your account, and team settings can require a particular approval mode for agent actions.
- AI tools now check your account's plan and offer Log in or Upgrade when access is unavailable. Local face tracking and motion analysis remain available without a paid plan.
- The assistant can search the web and read pages. Web search requires an active team subscription, and its search cost appears with the turn's cost.
- The assistant can inspect large timelines and file lists in pages instead of stopping at a fixed result limit.
