Fix Transcript Mistakes

Transcription isn't perfect. The Review tab collects the words the app wasn't confident about, so you can listen to each one, correct it if it's wrong, and approve it.

Reviewing these words keeps mistakes out of the transcript before you use it to work on the timeline. Corrections update the transcript text on the timeline, but they do not cut, move, or delete any clips.

Open the Review tab

Open Review in the Properties panel on the right side of the window. When Transcribe finds words to review, the panel opens this tab for you. Other AI tools can add items here too.

To focus on one clip, select it and check Show only selected clip's items.

Listen and approve

  1. Use the play button to hear the flagged word or phrase.
  2. If the transcript is correct, click the checkmark to approve it.

The nearby words are there for context. You can edit only the flagged span.

:::warning Approving is one-way

There is no un-approve. Once you approve an item or use Resolve all, it doesn't come back.

:::

Correct a word or phrase

  1. Click the flagged text.
  2. Type the full replacement for the flagged span.
  3. Press Enter to commit, or Escape to cancel.

A flagged span can contain more than one word. Your correction replaces the whole span. Check the new wording on the timeline, then click the checkmark to approve it.

Clear a whole file at once

Click Resolve all beside a file to approve every remaining item for that file. There is no undo.

If smart review fails

If Solar Sailer says smart review failed, click Retry smart review. This checks the existing transcript again. It does not transcribe the audio again.

What you can't fix yet

The Review tab can correct only flagged words and phrases. If the transcriber got an unflagged word wrong, there is no built-in way to change it yet.
