Log in and manage your account

Log in from the Welcome screen, manage the account connected to this computer, and unlock paid AI features.

When you're signed out, the Welcome screen shows account controls instead of the project buttons and Recent Projects.

Logging back in to the same account keeps your phone pairing, and the phone reconnects on its own. Logging in with a different account removes the old account's phone pairings from this computer. Unpair the old desktop entry on the phone, then pair again after switching accounts. Returning to the original account will not restore those removed pairings.

Solar Sailer shows a re-pairing warning before every login while a phone is paired, even when you return to the same account.

  1. Click Log in with your browser.
  2. Complete the login in your browser.
  3. Return to Solar Sailer. The project buttons appear when the login finishes.

If the browser doesn't reopen Solar Sailer, expand Solar Sailer did not open? Paste the code from the browser. Paste the code shown in the browser, then click Use code.

You can also log in under Edit > Preferences… > Account.

Manage your account

Open Edit > Preferences… > Account after you log in.

  • Manage account opens your account in the browser.
  • Devices opens your account's device list.
  • Log out signs you out on this computer and disconnects the phone. Your phone pairing stays saved and comes back when you log in to the same account.

Change your profile picture

Your account starts with a generated picture. You can replace it with a photo that your teammates will see.

  1. Open Edit > Preferences… > Account.
  2. Click Change picture to open your account in the browser.
  3. Click Upload a photo and choose an image up to 20 MB.
  4. Check the square crop, then click Save picture.
  5. Return to Solar Sailer to refresh the picture in your account and chat.

To remove your uploaded photo, click Use the generated picture on the account website.

Manage your team

From your account in the browser, click Manage beside Team. If you don't have a team yet, the button says Invite someone and opens the same page. Owners and admins can invite people and change Team settings. Pending invitations are visible only to owners and admins.

Before sending invitations, enable two-factor authentication on your own account. If needed, use the Turn on two-factor link on the team page. This is required even when Require two-factor for members is off.

Send up to 25 invitations at a time. If you reach the sending limit, the page keeps the unsent addresses and tells you how long to wait.

To require two-factor authentication for new members:

  1. Find Team settings on the team page.
  2. Turn on Require two-factor for members.

The change applies immediately. New members must turn on two-factor before accepting an invitation. Existing members stay on the team. Invitations that grant the admin role always require two-factor, even when this setting is off.

Manage a team member

Owners can manage other admins and members. Admins can manage members, but cannot change the owner's or another admin's account.

  1. Open your team page on the account website.
  2. Click the person's name under Members.
  3. Choose an action and read its confirmation before proceeding.

The page shows that person's logged-in devices, paired phones, and recent account activity. The actions have different effects:

  • Send password reset email lets the person choose a new password through an email link.
  • Reset two-factor turns off their two-factor authentication and logs them out everywhere. Admins and members whose team requires two-factor must set it up again at their next login.
  • Log out everywhere ends their current login sessions.
  • Unlink removes a phone's pairing. The person must pair it again to reconnect.
  • Reset picture replaces their photo with their generated picture.
  • Remove from team removes team access and revokes their phone pairings. Their personal account and local projects remain.

Owners can use Role to change a member to Admin or an admin to Member. The person must enable two-factor before becoming an admin. To give up your own admin role, use Step down as admin on the team page. You stay on the team as a member.

Transfer team ownership

Only the owner can transfer ownership. The new owner must have two-factor authentication enabled.

  1. Click Transfer ownership on the team page.
  2. Pick the new owner under Who should own this team?
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Type the team name.
  5. Click Confirm new owner.

The recipient must accept with Accept ownership on their team page. You become an admin after they accept.

Unlock an AI feature

When your account can't use a paid AI feature, Solar Sailer offers Log in or Upgrade.

  1. Click Log in or Upgrade.
  2. For Log in, follow the account login steps above. For Upgrade, finish the change on the account website and return to Solar Sailer.
  3. Start the AI tool or send the assistant request again.

Solar Sailer doesn't run the original action after your account changes. Face Tracking and Detect Motion run on your computer and remain available without a paid plan.
